  1. Honestly, I find that a good website and the social networking sites like Twitter, a regularly updated blog, and joining a popular writer’s forum or two have been the best promo for me.

I’ve gone the contest route too, and admit that I went a little wild and spent way more money than I made from that contest, haha:) But it did get me a couple new readers.

Another thing I’ve found that works is visiting other blogs, and leaving comments with my website address. People come to my site all the time from someone’s blog or website that I’ve commented on.

And once they get to your site, they like to read excerpts, reviews, and free reads, or links to free reads. Keep it updated and interesting, with all your information where people can easily access it.

The loops are where I spend the least amount of time and effort. 🙂

Anyway, I’m sure that different things work for different authors, but those are the things that work for me. 🙂
